ShoreTel Mobility

Introducing The ShoreTel Mobility Router

ShoreTel’s Mobility Router solution is one of the most exciting aspects of Unified Communications today. This innovative technology allows an organization to integrate wireless, cellular, pure IP phone networks, and unique location technology to extend voice to mobile devices and smart phones.

How Mobile Workers Are Putting The Power Of The Desk Phone In Their Pockets
The mobility router enables a cell phone to send and receive telephone calls by automatically selecting the best path (wifi or cellular). As a user moves from the office, to the road, to the home network, the mobility router and the RoamAnywhere client is able to switch from one network path to another. This is able to happen in the background, while the end use is completely unaware. This solution is able to dramatically cut down on bills from cell phone providers for both air time and long distance.

Why ShoreTel Mobility Router Solution?
1. Simple to use
2. Supports all PBX’s
3. Easy to install
4. Easy administration

The ShoreTel Mobility solution comes in three sizes to meet the needs of any organization or business. It works with ShoreTel IP PBX unified communication systems as well as any other platform.

The ShoreTel Mobility Router is available in three options:

  • ShoreTel Mobility Router 2000 supports 10 to 100 users and is available with Secure Remote Voice and Secure Instant Communications options.
  • ShoreTel Mobility Router 4000 supports 10 to 1,000 users and is available with Secure Remote Voice, Secure Instant Communications and High-Availability options.
  • ShoreTel Mobility Router 6000 supports 10 to 5,000 users and is available with Secure Remote Voice, Secure Instant Communications, High-Availability, Hardware Encryption/Decryption, and Hardware VoIP Acceleration options.
  • Supports a wide range of single- and dual-mode (Wi-Fi and cellular) mobile handsets, including BlackBerry, iPhone, and Nokia.

This system allows a user to extend the use of their IP phone to the mobile device, regardless of where he or she finds themselves. As soon as the mobile phone is able to get wifi internet access (from home, the office or a public wifi hotspot), the mobility router is able to switch from cellular phone airtime to VOIP functionality. No other device available on the market today is able to achieve this with the same simplicity and cost effectiveness.

What Vendors Does The ShoreTel Mobility Router Support?
Not only will this system work with ShoreTel Unified Communication networks, it will also integrate with UC systems by Microsoft, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent, and CISCO.

Additionally, it also works well with the best Wireless LAN products, such as those offered by Aruba, Meru, CISCO, and Trapeze. In a nutshell, this solution will allow any business to cut costs, extend coverage, and empower mobile workers no matter what UC platform they have already put into use.
